Hialeah Housing Authority’s "Other Departments" are specifically designed programs for the public services to include providing Family Self-Sufficiency, lunch for our Hialeah elderly, day care for children and public announcements for business opportunities.
Family Self-Sufficiency Program
The Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) program enables families assisted through the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program and Public Housing (PH) residents to increase their earned income and reduce their dependency on welfare assistance and rental subsidies. Under the FSS program, low-income families are provided opportunities for education, job training, counseling and other forms of social service assistance, while living in assisted housing, so they can obtain skills necessary to achieve self-sufficiency.
Hot Lunch Program
The Hialeah Housing Authority’s Hot Lunch program provides food and nutritional services to the senior citizens of Hialeah. The program provides seniors with a nutritionally balanced lunch five days a week and on holidays. The Hot Lunch program provides congregate hot meals that allow seniors to come to a friendly communal dining room or a home-delivered meals program.
Elderly Services
Elderly residents residing on HHA Public Housing Buildings qualify for assistance with information and referral services to providers to satisfy their needs.
Procurement
The Hialeah Housing Authority from time to time will seek public invitation to bid for specific projects. This section will provide public notices to those in the public who would like to bid on upcoming projects. This section will also allow public entities wishing to do business with the Hialeah Housing Authority to send in their information to be kept on file for future bids.
