mgutierrezMaida Gutierrez was born in Habana Cuba on March 7, 1963. At the age of 2 her parents decided to flee the island due to Castro’s regime. She has been living in the lovely city of Hialeah, Florida since her arrival to the United States.

Maida was raised in the City of Hialeah where she completed all her education graduating from Hialeah High School in 1982. She served as an officer of the Future Business Leaders of America during her high school years. While her daughter high school years, Maida was involved as a Secretary for the Parent Teacher Association. Maida is currently involved in servicing the city, by managing a Christmas event hosted by her employer and is also involved in community organizations such as March of Dimes. Maida attended Miami Dade Community College, where she took several courses in Business Administration.

Upon graduating from Hialeah Senior High School in 1982, she met her lovely husband, Ralph. In the year 1987, they decided to get married and purchase the house of their dream in this progressive city.

Their only Daughter Jaclyn was born in 1990. Jackie is currently in her second year as a student at the University of Florida majoring in Criminal Justice and Anthropology; she too has been involved in the City of Hialeah. During the summer of 2008 Jackie did an internship at Hialeah Crime Scene Unit.

Over the past 15 years Maida has worked for a large Real Estate Developer in the City of Hialeah and continues to do so as Development and Construction Coordinator.

On November 10, 2009, Mayor Julio Robaina recognized Maida’s passion for the city she loves and appointed her to the Board of Commissioners of the Hialeah Housing Authority for a four year term.

On November 13, 2009, Maida was appointed Vice-Chairman of the Hialeah Housing Authority Board.
