Vernon Ashley Plaza
"Vernon Ashley Plaza" was the first federally funded 200 unit Elderly Turnkey Development Project built by the Hialeah Housing Authority. "Vernon Ashley Plaza" is comprised of 153 efficiencies and 46 one-bedroom units and is located at 70 East 7th Street, Hialeah, Florida. This project was named in honor of Mr. Vernon Ashley, who was a former Councilman of the City of Hialeah for over 12 years and very instrumental in establishing the growth of the Hialeah Housing Authority. The construction of "Vernon Ashley Plaza" was completed in October of 1969.
