| Mrs. Tinsman has served as a dedicated and loyal member of the Board of Commissioners, as a past Chairperson and Vice-Chair since January 9, 1990, with almost a perfect attendance record. She has been a resident of the City of Hialeah for over 50 years with continual service to the Community. Her fellow Commissioners, Senator Roberto Casas, Guillermo Zuñiga and Berta Valls, at a Public Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held on November 18, 1999, elected Ruth A. Tinsman, Chairperson of the Hialeah Housing Authority Board of Commissioners.
She started her career in the City of Hialeah with former Mayor Henry Milander and worked closely for four years with Congressman Dante Fascell and State Representative Robert Reynolds. Thereafter, Ms. Tinsman went to work to develop programs working with the children in the City of Hialeah in Parks and Recreation and supervised and developed programs to educate children and keep them safe. Mrs. Tinsman was a Congressional Aide to Congressman William Lehman for 10 years and upon Congressman Lehman's retirement, became the District Director for Congressman Alcee Hastings for the past 8 years up-to-date. Ms. Tinsman currently sits as the Chairperson of Citrus Mental Health, formerly Northwest Dade Mental Health, for the past 18 years. In the Northwest Dade area, she is the President of "Kids In Dade Society", developing and motivating programs for Inner City Youths. Mrs. Ruth A. Tinsman is a dedicated and loyal civil servant and has spent her life working to make other peoples lives better. |
