Through the Public Housing Assessment System, (PHAS) the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is able to measure and recognize the results of the work that agencies such as ours have done to house people in need of a decent, safe place to live. The results of these scores answer two important questions. First, they establish in an objective and verifiable manner that taxpayer investment in public housing is well spent and second, they establish that the agency is doing a great job.
Based on the most recent round of PHAS evaluations the Hialeah Housing Authority was designated a "High Performer".
During a ceremony held at HUD Headquarters in Washington, D. C., on Friday, November 19, 1999, the Executive Director and other industry partners of the Hialeah Housing Authority were personally acknowledged for the fine work done providing housing and supportive services to the low income residents in our community and presented with a performance commendation.
