Family Unification Program
The Family Unification Program (FUP) is a joint program between Housing Authorities and the Florida Department of Children and Family. The main purpose of the program is to prevent the placement of children in foster care because the family's housing is inadequate.

Based on eligibility, a family may be referred for the (FUP), either by Florida Department of Children and Family or by the Housing Authority. The family must also meet Section 8 eligibility criteria, as determined by the Housing Authority. Some of the criteria that are looked upon are: Families with young children, families who have been rehabilitated from substance abuse issues and families who's children's custody is pending solely on securing appropriate housing.

The family must have an open case with Florida Department of Children and Family at the time of application, selection and at the time subsidy is issued.
